SmartBones Dog Chews To The Rescue!

Just try to keep a five-month old basset hound, like Dash the Basset, busy all day. Just you try it. I’ll bet you’ll lose a few pairs of shoes, your patience, and maybe incur a few more nips to the new sofa. That’s what life was like over here before we discovered SmartBones dog chews.

I don’t always like to give rawhide, even USA-made rawhide, to my dogs. Rawhide bones can cause many stomach issues although, luckily, we haven’t had a problem with Dash. Regardless, I feel much better giving Dash a long lasting dog chew that isn’t rawhide. Few chews can hold up to his relentless slobbering and baby teeth. Trust me: I (and my wallet) have been through a whole slew of dog bone chews that just didn’t even hold his attention for 10 minutes. It was either he got bored with the dog bones or he ate right through them. That is, until I found SmartBones Dog Chews.

SmartBones are noted as ‘The healthier alternative to rawhide’ and I can vouch for that. The dogs don’t cough, choke or vomit these up like they may with rawhide.

SmartBones come in a few different varieties including peanut butter, chicken, or sweet potato flavors. They also come in bone shape or stick shape. And, finally, these hearty dog chews come in four different sizes:

• Mini for dogs 1-10 lbs (little Gizmo eats these)
• Small for dogs 11-25 lbs (Rita and Matee chew on these)
• Medium for dogs 26-50 lbs and
• Large for dogs over 50 lbs.

Although Dash is in the medium Smartbone size, I bought the large size to keep him busy longer. One of these peanut butter bones will keep Dash chewing for at least an hour, sometimes longer.
